Cleaning and storing your clear stamps correctly is essential for good quality impressions and durability. If kept unclean, the ink residue may be carried on to your next project resulting in muddy colored impression.

Here are a few different ways to to clean your stamps:

  1. Baby wipes or wet wipes: Before peeling the Clear Stamps from the acrylic block, use either baby wipes or wet wipes to gently remove the ink from the stamp. This can be used to remove any surface stains created by inks, ink pads, dyes and markers. Person cleaning Clear Stamps with wet wipes or wet tissue paper.
  2. Stamp Cleaning Solution: Using permanent markers or permanent ink pads can cause the stamps to have a stain. Although it is completely normal to have a stain and this will not affect the performance of the stamp you can clean it using Stamp Cleaning Solutions that are available in the market. Here are a few options that you could use - Inkssentials Cleans, Ranger Water-based Stamp cleaner etc
  3. Soap and water: Most inks and paints can be cleaned using a mild soap and regular tap water. You can gently brush the crevices and folds of the stamps using an old soft toothbrush or a sponge. You can use the same process to clean your stamp in case of dust accumulation or grease residue. Don’t worry this will not cause your stamps to lose their natural stickiness.

  4. Nail Polish remover: Acrylic paints tend to leave a residue because of the thickness of the paint, which can be removed with a cotton cloth or wet wipes. For tougher paint residue in the folds and curves of the design, use a small amount of nail polish remover on the cotton pad and gently wipe your stamps to remove the paint.

Tips and tricks

  1. Clean your stamps after every use.
  2. Don’t let acrylic paints accumulate as it may be difficult to remove once dried. Make sure you clean them immediately after every use.
  3. Use a soft brush to clean your stamps and make sure you don’t scrub them too much.
  4. Even after cleaning, there may be some stubborn stains/ink left behind, but that’s no reason to worry as it will not affect the performance of your stamps.
